Black hair, blunt-cut at the jaw and tucked behind one ear when she works, over cool olive skin and dark, unhurried brown eyes. She is of average height and slim, with long unpolished fingers and short bare nails — a craftsman's hands. In the deliberately blank air of her shuttered atelier she wears something simple and close to the body, sleeves she can move aside. She closes her eyes completely when she leans in to breathe at the pulse, total and unselfconscious.
