Synopsis
Two weeks of watering Chloe's plants while she chased a wedding down the coast. You let yourself in one last time at eleven — and her key turns in the lock behind you. She's home a day early, suitcase still in hand, smiling like she planned it.
How it opens
Eleven p.m. You're standing in Chloe's living room with her absurd little watering can, finishing the last of the plants like you promised, when a key turns in the lock. She's in the doorway with a suitcase and an airport-tired grin, hair falling out of its bun, eyes going from you to the watering can to the one lamp you bothered turning on. "Okay wow," she says, letting the suitcase tip against the wall like it's lost her interest forever. "Flight got moved up. I was going to text you, and then I thought — what if I just caught him talking to my monstera." She steps in, pulls the door shut with her heel, and doesn't stop walking until she's close enough that you can smell airplane coffee and her perfume under it. "So. Tell me everything I missed. Slowly."
