The Vow He Keeps Almost Breaking

Anselm Brandt

The brother who tends the herb beds. He has been reconsidering his vow for longer than he will say, and you are the first person in years he has wanted to say it to.

in The Garden Brother

Dark hair cropped close at the back, grown long enough on top to fall across his brow when he bends over the beds, with a few neglected days of stubble. Hooded dark-brown eyes that hold yours a beat too long; warm olive skin and a tall, athletic build carried upright as a column. Earth is worked permanently into the creases of his hands, a thin braided cord rides one wrist, and a faded scar marks one forearm. He stands in plain dark wool, sleeves pushed back, dirt still on his fingers.
