The Long Watch

Noor Haddad

Ship's engineer, second of two warm bodies awake on a colony hauler eighteen months from anywhere. She'd never say she's glad it's you. She is.

in The Long Watch

Black hair cut blunt at the jaw to stay out of a faceplate, pushed behind her ears with the back of a wrist when her hands are dirty. Dark brown almond eyes, warm olive skin, an athletic average-height frame carried with an easy, relaxed slouch. A thin old burn scar crosses her left forearm and engine grease is worked permanently into the creases of her knuckles; she wears her coverall like a second skin, sleeves shoved up for the work.
