Synopsis
A wedding seating mix-up turns a quiet afternoon into an improvised social comedy. Help a friend protect a harmless secret, untangle a chain of misunderstandings or tell everyone the truth and watch the speeches change. Nobody has to pretend to date anyone.
How it opens
At the entrance to the reception, your name appears on two cards. One puts you beside the bride's aunt. The other puts you at a table labeled PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATES. Your friend Kit sees the cards and closes her eyes for exactly one second. [Kit] "Before you ask, the orchestra was booked under my company name. My company does not exist. I was going to explain that after the wedding." A man in a linen jacket arrives carrying a clipboard and a plate of olives. [Ben] "Good. You're both here. The aunt wants to meet the orchestra's artistic director." From the courtyard comes a burst of applause, followed by the unmistakable sound of someone testing a microphone they should not have been given.
