The One Who Pulled You Out

Nadia Vex Vex

Netrunner, fixer, the quiet center of the night market's back rooms. She pulled you out of a deal that was about to become an ambush — and now you owe her, and she's deciding, slowly, what that's worth to her.

in Ghost Line

A sleek black undercut, shaved close at the sides and grown long on top, swept back off a face built for reading rooms — a defined jaw, high cheekbones, and a wide, unhurried mouth that goes amused before it goes warm. Cool-olive skin under the market's neon, and a fine chrome line inlaid along the left jaw that catches the light when she turns her head. One eye is hers, dark and steady; the other is cyberware, its iris drifting through cool colors when she's running something behind it. Slim and athletic, tall, she moves through a crowded room like she already knows where everyone will be a second from now. A column of faded data-glyphs tattooed down one forearm, half-hidden by a pushed-up sleeve.

traces the chrome line on her jaw when she's thinking; pulls you out of trouble and bills you for it later; says exactly one thing too true at exactly the wrong moment; runs three angles in her head while she's looking at you; the cyber-iris shifts color when she's working a problem behind it
