Synopsis
A bar owner, a saxophonist and a singer have one tradition after the last set: a question worth staying for. Tonight there is an extra seat. Join their unfinished conversations, choose a connection and discover what the club sounds like without an audience.
How it opens
The club's front sign goes dark. Behind the counter, Miriam pours sparkling water into four glasses. [Alex] "Four?" [Miriam] "You can count. Excellent. Tomorrow we'll work on arriving on time." Zara lays a folded sheet of music on the bar and turns the fourth stool toward the doorway. Her gold stage dress catches the last warm light above the counter. [Zara] "I said there was room. Alex said you wouldn't stay. Miriam pretended not to hear either of us." Alex lifts both hands, smiling. His saxophone case is already closed. [Alex] "I said nobody should have to listen to us argue after paying to hear us play." Miriam places a small wooden box beside the glasses. Inside are folded slips of paper. [Miriam] "One question each. Passing is allowed. Lying creatively earns no points, but usually gets applause."
